Moray Resource Centre is a day and information service for people from the age of 16 to 65 with a physical and / or sensory disability, living in the Moray area. This service is part of The Moray Council, Community Services Department.
To help service users to develop the skills needed to adjust to change and take increasing control of their own lives.
Day / Outreach Service
The centre offers a specialised service for individuals with physical and / or sensory disabilities. The service aims to help individuals:
- adjust to change
- learn new skills
- gain self confidence
- return to education / work
- participation in development of the service
The Information Service and Disability Living Centre
The Information Service aims to provide accurate, appropriate, up to date information and advice on services and equipment related to all aspects of disability. Enquiries are welcome from carers, professionals and members of the public.
The registered Disabled Living Centre (DLC) has a range of specialised equipment on display. Please note it is advisable to make an appointment for this service.
Facilities include:
- advice and assessment on activities of daily living for people with disabilities and their carers
- Occupational Therapist appointments
- regular displays of equipment by suppliers
- level access shower
- unisex toilets for people with disabilities
- Disabled parking spaces
Community Resource and Conference Room
The community resource room, which can accommodate up to 25 people, is available to book for training days and meetings, but priority is given to disability related groups. The room is equipped with a loop system, television, video and an overhead projector. Bookings can be arranged by contacting reception on Tel: 01343 551339 - there may be a charge for the use of the room.

Members of the public can refer themselves or can be referred by a professional such as GP or an Occupational Therapist. Following assessment, if a service if offered, a Keyworker will be available to offer advice, support and information. For some people an outreach service may be more suitable than attending the Day Service in Elgin.
