Description

Pillar Aberdeen offers opportunities for social contact to people with mental health problems. Pillar is a local voluntary organisation founded in 1978.

Aims

To provide opportunities for social contact for people recovering from mental illness, or who have mental health problems.

Services/Activities

Various activities are available such as snooker, games, outings and entertainments.

Regular small groups are planned according to members' interests.

Workshops can be run on special interest groups such as: anger management, anxiety management, confidence building, coping with depression, healthy eating, healthy lifestyles, relaxation, post natal depression, stopping smoking and other groups of interest to members.

Members are encouraged to view Pillar as a part of the general community and are therefore encouraged to take an interest in and make use of a range of other community activities and resources.

Pillar also provides an Outreach and Through support worker. This worker can assist individuals to access Pillar, and help existing members to explore options outside of Pillar. This service is available Monday to Wednesdays.
