It is intended to assist people who find it difficult or impossible to prepare meals at home. The service provides people in need with a well balanced meal, on average twice a week. Those who qualify for meals include people of all ages who because of illness, physical disability, learning disability, sensory impairment or mental health problems require assistance in preparing a meal, or would put themselves at risk in doing so. Aberdeenshire Council has a contract with Appetito who provide frozen meals fortnightly. A freezer and microwave can be provided if required.
