Services

The Scottish Huntington's Association helps and supports people at risk of, or affected by Huntington's disease, their families and carers, and other interested professionals.

The association aims to provide dedicated support to carers of individuals affected by Huntington's disease, to help them understand and manage the symptoms of Huntington's disease in order to achieve and maintain an acceptable quality of life. Services include:

  • advice about the management of Huntington's Disease
  • advocacy
  • emotional support and counselling
  • help to get any benefits entitlement
  • help to obtain services directly
  • information and advice for people with Huntington's Disease, carers, the general public and professionals
  • information on the genetic service and tests available
  • specialist assessment of the needs of people who have Huntington's Disease

The Huntingtons Association also supports carers by:

  • providing information, training and advice to carers on the management of Huntingtons disease
  • providing emotional and practical support to carers
  • helping to obtain access to services
