Services

The Positive Dementia Group is an involvement group for people with dementia set up in 2004 by Alzheimer Scotland in conjunction with Aberdeen City Council Social Work. The group talk about how dementia affects their lives and gives them an opportunity to make a difference.

The Positive Dementia Group:

  • carries out a variety of consultation exercises within the Group
  • shares information amongst Group members
  • invites guest speakers to meetings to inform its membership
  • maintains a working relationship with the Old Age Psychiatry Group
  • organises visits to key partners and services
  • organises appropriate social events and activities
  • provides appropriate individual support for people joining, participating in and leaving the Group
