The Rehabilitation Engineering Movement Advisory Panel (REMAP) develops aids and adaptations for people with disabilities. Many people with disabilities encounter problems in their daily lives which cannot be resolved with standard commercial equipment, despite the increasing range available.

REMAP utilises the voluntary services of professional engineers, technicians, craftspeople and healthcare experts to try and resolve such problems by designing new equipment or modifying existing equipment subject to ownership and warranty checks. Grampian REMAP has been operating since 1983.

Designs and adaptations are usually one-off solutions but include such things as:

arm support for computer keyboard
baby carriage attachment for a wheelchair
balance support for bowler
brake for 5 legged office chair
corner bath seat
hair dryer stand
hoist for disabled glider pilots
inflatable toilet aid
modified bicycles
oxygen bottle hoist
reading aids
rear door for pavement scooter
scrabble for blind players
singing shuttle for blind players
wheelchair video camera support
