People are increasingly using new technologies to monitor their health in their own home. These include the Internet, self-monitoring products (such as a blood glucose monitor or heart rate monitor), home testing kits (such as a cholesterol test or diabetes test) and less commonly, telehealth systems which use a standard phone line to enable healthcare professionals to remotely monitor a patient's vital signs.
Distance Lab would like to find out carers views on home health monitoring and the new technologies that enable carees to easily share personal health information, such as blood pressure, with their carers. It is expected these will include issues of privacy, trust, support and peace of mind.
